Helps lead and support the Colleton County Chapter by working closely with leadership and the community to foster collaboration, stability, and meaningful growth.


Ashlei Patrice “A.P.” Brown is a multifaceted behavioral health professional, community leader, and creative entrepreneur committed to expanding mental-wellness access and empowering underserved communities in Colleton County and beyond. She serves as the Vice President of C.O.R.E. Impact, where she helps guide strategic planning, community partnerships, and long-term initiatives designed to strengthen families, support youth, and cultivate generational resilience.

A.P. works on the Acute Crisis Psychiatric Unit at HCA Healthcare Colleton Medical Center as a Behavioral Health Technician, championing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care for individuals navigating psychiatric emergencies. Her frontline work fuels her dedication to equitable mental-health services and community-rooted healing.

She is currently completing her B.S. in Psychology at Capella University (anticipated graduation December 2025), where she has earned Dean’s List and President’s List honors. She maintains active membership in several national honor and professional organizations, including:

  • Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology

  • The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)

  • American Psychological Association (APA)

As she advances in her academic journey, A.P. is preparing to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to become a licensed professional counselor specializing in trauma, crisis, and grief. Her long-term vision is to provide culturally grounded therapeutic support to individuals and families who have experienced acute and chronic adversity, particularly within historically marginalized communities.

A.P. is also the Founder and CEO of Purposely Stained, a creative wellness brand that blends mental-health education, storytelling, and personal empowerment. Through workshops, writing projects, community events, and future merchandise, she uplifts resilience, identity reclamation, and purpose-driven living. Her debut book, The Weight of Her Name, is set to release in 2026 as a hybrid memoir and poetry collection exploring trauma, healing, and transformation.

In addition to her academic and entrepreneurial work, A.P. serves on the C.O.R.E. Impact Board, actively supports youth mentorship, and engages in community empowerment initiatives throughout the Lowcountry. She is passionate about liberation psychology, DEI education, crisis intervention, and creating emotionally safe spaces where healing can flourish.

Guided by faith, purpose, and a commitment to service, A.P. believes that healing is communal, leadership is relational, and every voice deserves to be seen, heard, and honored.
