A family medicine physician by training, Dr. Braye’s work is grounded in the belief that healthy individuals and families are essential to strong, thriving communities.

A native of Walterboro, South Carolina, Dr. Braye is deeply connected to the communities C.O.R.E. Impact serves. He attended Colleton County High School, where he was actively involved in band, football, and track—early experiences that shaped his appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and mentorship. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, before pursuing his medical education at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).

While at MUSC, Dr. Braye took a year away from medical school to earn a Master of Public Health with a focus on Health Behaviors and Health Promotion. This decision reflects his broader vision of health—not only as medical care, but as prevention, education, and community engagement. He later completed his residency in Family Medicine at Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Lawrence, Massachusetts, with a concentration in Health Systems Leadership.

Throughout his life and career, Dr. Braye has benefited from strong mentors who helped guide him through pivotal seasons of growth. That experience fuels his passion for mentoring others, particularly young men navigating education, career decisions, and personal development. His mentoring experience includes working with middle school students as well as high school and college students interested in health-related careers.

As Vice President of C.O.R.E. Impact, Dr. Braye supports the organization’s strategic vision, leadership development, and community-focused initiatives. He brings a thoughtful, systems-oriented perspective to leadership, helping ensure that C.O.R.E. Impact remains grounded, sustainable, and responsive to the real needs of the people it serves.

Outside of his professional and community leadership, Dr. Braye enjoys sports, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his wife, Paris, and their cat, Obi.
