This role focuses on building genuine relationships with families, schools, and community partners across Colleton County. Through trust, collaboration, and consistent presence, this position helps connect individuals to resources, support systems, and opportunities that strengthen families and uplift the community.


Tangela Green is a devoted wife, a proud mother of three adult children, and a loving grandmother whose family-centered values shape every aspect of her life and leadership. Her deep commitment to family, stability, and community is not only personal—it is the foundation of her professional and civic service.

With nearly eleven years of experience in Parent and Family Engagement, Tangela has served as both a McKinney-Vento Liaison and Foster Care Point of Contact, advocating for students and families facing some of life’s most challenging circumstances. Her work has centered on ensuring access to educational opportunities, vital resources, and supportive networks that help families move toward stability, dignity, and long-term success.

Tangela’s dedication extends beyond her professional role. She actively serves on the boards of Colleton County First Steps and the Continuum of Care, where she collaborates with community leaders, organizations, and service providers to strengthen systems of support for families across the county. She is known for her ability to bring people together, build trust, and create meaningful partnerships that result in real, measurable impact.

As Director of Community Engagement for C.O.R.E. Impact in Colleton County, Tangela serves as a bridge between families, schools, community organizations, and the broader support network. She is passionate about meeting people where they are, amplifying awareness, and fostering connections that empower individuals and families to thrive.

Tangela believes that community transformation begins with compassion, collaboration, and consistent presence. She is driven by the belief that when families are supported and informed, entire communities grow stronger.

Outside of her work, Tangela enjoys moments of rest and reflection, often unwinding by spending quiet evenings watching movies—recharging so she can continue serving with excellence and heart.
